What fitness level do I need for these treks?

You should be in good physical condition with regular exercise habits. For moderate treks like Markha Valley, you should be able to walk 5-6 hours daily with a light daypack. We recommend starting a training regimen 2-3 months before the trek, including cardio exercises, stair climbing, and weekend hikes with weight.

What safety measures are in place for high altitude trekking?

Safety is our top priority. We provide: 1) Experienced high-altitude trekking guides, 2) Medical oxygen and comprehensive first-aid kits, 3) Gradual ascent profile with acclimatization days, 4) Regular health checks, 5) Satellite phone for emergency communication, 6) Well-maintained camping equipment, 7) Emergency evacuation plans.

What type of accommodation can I expect during the trek?

During the trek, you'll stay in quality 4-season tents (2 people per tent). We provide sleeping bags with liners and sleeping mats. In Leh, you'll stay in comfortable hotels. On some treks like Sham Valley, you may stay in village homestays for cultural immersion.

How do you handle high altitude sickness?

We include acclimatization days in Leh, maintain gradual ascent profiles, provide medical oxygen, conduct regular health checks, have trained staff to recognize symptoms, carry necessary medications, ensure proper hydration, and have emergency evacuation plans. Trekkers with pre-existing conditions are advised to consult doctors before booking.

What food will be provided during the trek?

We provide nutritious, energy-rich meals including: Breakfast (porridge, eggs, toast), Lunch (packed or hot depending on route), Dinner (soup, main course, dessert). We accommodate dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free) with advance notice. All food is prepared hygienically by our trained cooks.

Can I trek solo or do I need to join a group?

You can do both! We offer fixed departure group treks where you join other trekkers, and private treks for solo travelers, couples, or private groups. Private treks have higher costs but offer more flexibility. Solo travelers on group treks get the advantage of shared costs and camaraderie.

Rescheduling Policy
  • Rescheduling requests must be made at least 15 days before the trek start date
  • Rescheduling is subject to availability in upcoming treks
  • Rescheduling fee: 10% of total package cost (if rescheduled within 15 days)
  • Rescheduling is allowed only once per booking
  • No rescheduling allowed within 72 hours of trek start
Weather & Force Majeure
  • In case of trek cancellation due to natural calamities, political unrest, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control:
  • Full credit will be provided for future treks (valid for 1 year)
  • No cash refunds will be provided for force majeure cancellations
  • Tripacation reserves the right to modify or cancel treks due to safety concerns
  • All government-issued travel advisories will be strictly followed
Medical Cancellations
  • Medical cancellations require a valid medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner
  • Medical certificates must be submitted within 24 hours of cancellation
  • Medical cancellations made more than 7 days before trek: 85% refund
  • Medical cancellations made 3-7 days before trek: 50% refund
  • Medical cancellations made less than 72 hours before trek: No refund
Travel Insurance Recommendation

We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers:

  • Trek cancellation and interruption
  • Medical emergencies and high-altitude evacuation
  • Loss of baggage and personal effects
  • Adventure sports coverage (high-altitude trekking)
  • High-altitude sickness coverage (AMS, HAPE, HACE)

Booking Confirmation Policy

All bookings are confirmed only after receipt of 30% advance payment. Full payment must be made at least 15 days before the trek start date. Bookings made within 15 days of trek start require full payment at the time of booking.
