Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best time for the Apricot Blossom Festival in Nubra Valley?

The Apricot Blossom Festival in Nubra Valley typically takes place in April each year. The exact timing varies slightly depending on weather conditions and altitude, but mid to late April is usually the peak bloom period when the orchards are at their most spectacular. Our 6-day tour is scheduled during this optimal viewing window.

What type of accommodation is provided in Nubra Valley and Pangong?

In Nubra Valley, you'll stay in comfortable hotels located in villages like Hunder, surrounded by apricot orchards. At Pangong Lake, accommodation is in camps or guesthouses near the lakeshore. The Pangong accommodation is basic due to the remote location but offers the unique experience of staying by the lake. All accommodations are clean and comfortable with necessary amenities.

Is the camel ride at Hunder Sand Dunes included in the package?

No, the double-humped Bactrian camel ride at Hunder Sand Dunes is optional and available on direct payment basis. This allows you the flexibility to choose this activity according to your interest and budget. The cost is typically around ₹500-800 per person for a short ride.

What happens if the Shyok route to Pangong is closed?

The Shyok route to Pangong Lake is subject to road and weather conditions. If this route is closed, we will take the alternative route via Khardung La Pass back to Leh and then proceed to Pangong via Chang La Pass. This may result in longer travel time, but we ensure you still visit all planned destinations.

What should I pack for this high-altitude tour?

Essential items include:

  • Warm clothing (thermal layers, down jacket, woolens) - temperatures can range from -5°C to 15°C
  • Comfortable walking shoes with good grip
  • Sun protection (sunglasses, sunscreen SPF 50+, hat)
