You should have at least 1-2 years of regular motorcycle riding experience, preferably with some mountain road experience. The expedition involves riding through high-altitude passes (up to 18,380 ft) and challenging terrain. We assess each rider's skill level and provide additional training if needed. For complete beginners, we offer a separate beginner-friendly program with more support.
Safety is our top priority. We provide: 1) Well-maintained Royal Enfield motorcycles, 2) Helmets and basic riding gear, 3) Experienced road captain and mechanic, 4) Backup vehicle with medical kit and oxygen, 5) High-altitude first aid trained staff, 6) Regular health checks, 7) Satellite phone for emergency communication, 8) Accommodation with oxygen support.
For Indian riders: Valid motorcycle driving license, ID proof (Aadhar card, Passport, or Voter ID), medical insurance. For international riders: Valid passport with Indian visa, international driving permit, medical insurance with adventure sports coverage. We assist with obtaining Inner Line Permits for restricted areas in Ladakh.
We include acclimatization days in Leh, maintain gradual ascent profiles, provide medical oxygen, conduct regular health checks, have trained staff to recognize symptoms, carry necessary medications, ensure proper hydration, and have emergency evacuation plans. Riders with pre-existing conditions are advised to consult doctors before booking.
Our backup vehicle carries a professional mechanic, essential spare parts, and tools. In case of a breakdown that cannot be fixed on the spot, we provide an immediate replacement bike from our support vehicle. Our mechanic rides with the group and conducts daily bike checks to prevent major issues.
Yes, you can bring your own motorcycle. We offer a rider-only package that includes all services except the motorcycle. Your bike should be in excellent condition, suitable for high-altitude riding, and you should carry essential spare parts. We recommend Royal Enfield Himalayan or similar adventure bikes for Ladakh conditions.
